Adelaide Zoo
Opened to the public in 1883, Adelaide Zoo is Australia’s second-oldest zoo. Is home to almost 2,500 animals, with around 250 different species from all around the world. Giant pandas are the stars here, delighting young and old alike. Also with Aussie favorite animals like koalas, kangaroos, and Tasmanian devils. Located in the heart of the city, the zoo is accessible by tram or city bus.

South Australian Museum
Established in 1856, the South Australian Museum stands as a natural history museum and research institution located in Adelaide. Explore various exhibits in the museum such as the World Mammals Gallery, the Discovery Centre, the Fossils Gallery, the Ancient Egypt Gallery, and more. This museum is one of the best things to do for free in this culture-rich city – if you’re an indoor activities person. Adelaide Central Market
Located a short distance west of Victoria Square, on the southern side of Grote Street, the Adelaide Central Market is one of the world’s oldest indoor markets. Established in 1870 with diverse range of products. Visitors can explore and purchase fresh produce, flowers, baked goods, cheeses, and a tempting array of multicultural culinary delights. Best to visit the market on Saturday, when some vendors slash prices to move their produce and join a variety of classes and activities too. Chinatown is nearby, don’t forget to enjoy a meal at one of the many cafés in the area or the Asian restaurants in nearby!

Adelaide Oval
Positioned at the heart of Adelaide’s appealing Riverbank Precinct, the stadium was founded in 1871 and witnessed its first test cricket match in 1884. Over the years, the venue has accommodated over 16 diverse sports, ranging from AFL, archery, cycling, hockey, lacrosse, and tennis, to music concerts and significant events.
A multi-million-dollar redevelopment completed in 2014 revitalized the venue, but it still features the old heritage-listed scoreboard and century-old Moreton Bay fig trees. Now, it is a modern sport venue that famous for major cricket and football games, the venue also hosts rugby leagues, tennis matches, and concerts.

Mount Lofty
Regardless of it’s name, Mt. Lofty doesn’t boast towering heights, reaching a modest elevation of 2,385 feet (727 meters) within the Mt. Lofty Ranges, nestled in the Adelaide Hills. From its summit, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Adelaide and the ocean, complemented by amenities such as a café, an information center with a shop, and access to hiking trails. The slopes of Mt. Lofty also house attractions like the Mt. Lofty Botanic Garden and Cleland Wildlife Park. Aside from wild plants, kangaroos are often spotted on the trails leading up to the summit of Mount Lofty.

Victoria Square
Located in the heart of the city, at the intersection with Grote Street and Wakefield Street, King William Street opens out into the revamped Victoria Square, also known as Tarndanyangga means “red kangaroo dreaming”. This event venue, with beautiful gardens around, is a popular meeting place, and it’s a great place to hang out and watch the world go by. On Christmas period, there will put up the traditional 24.5-meter high Christmas tree. Nearby landmarks include St. Francis Xavier Cathedral, where you should pay a visit too!

Adelaide Botanic Garden
Step through the ornate wrought-iron gates located at the eastern extremity of North Terrace, and you’ll find yourself in a botanical wonderland. Established in 1855, the Adelaide Botanic Garden showcases educational plantings with various themes, encompassing medicinal plants, a Mediterranean garden, native Australian species, and a wetland strategically designed to accumulate sufficient water for irrigating the entire grounds over time. Other than native and foreign plants, the garden also holds many rare specimens such as the Wollemi Pine tree and Bottle Tree.

Art Gallery of South Australia
The museum occupies a landmark neoclassical building in the heart of Adelaide, where Australia proudly showcases one of the country’s most exceptional art collections. The distinguished Victorian building, featuring elegant colonnades and established in 1881, serves as a fitting backdrop for the esteemed artworks displayed within its walls.
The Art Gallery of South Australia has a collection of almost 45,000 works of art, making it the second-largest state art collection in the country.

Local weather for November to April is usually at between 28℃ (82℉) on day time and 14℃ (57℉) on evening onwards, while May to October is normally at between 20℃ (68℉) on day time and 8℃ (68℉) on evening onwards.
