Bako National Park

Established in 1957, it is the oldest national park in Sarawak. Located just few miles from the city, it’s easily accessible by red public bus from the Central Market. The park is famous for its Seasnack stones, pitcher plants, and wild monkeys. It features a variety of landforms, such as cliffs, horns, bays, and beaches, all sculpted by thousands of years of sea erosion. Don’t miss the chance to meet with long-armed monkeys, long-tailed macaques, and silver langurs in their natural habitat. A great place to meet wildlife, not only kid but definitely adult will be enjoying this spot.

Sarawak Museum

It is on Normandy row-house style, a treasure trove of Sarawak’s culture and history. Kuching Waterfront

The Kuching Waterfront Park provides a charming setting to enjoy yourself in the city’s atmosphere. Located on the southern bank of the Sarawak River, it presents stunning views of Astana, Margarita Fort, and Malakampong on the opposite side of the river. As evening time, the waterfront becomes vibrant, attracting both locals and tourists who gather to relish the cool night wind. Cat Statue, Kuching

An iconic landmark in Kuching, known as “Cat City.” Located in the city center, this cute sculpture was constructed back from 1990s to celebrate Kuching’s feline association. It’s a must-visit spot for cat enthusiasts and first-time traveller, you will get a perfect backdrop for photos and a leisurely walk around city.

Tip : You will need to cross the road to reach statue, please be careful and watch out cars from all direction.

Carpenter St (Ada Street)

Carpenter Street is the heart of Chinatown in Kuching. It’s a must visit place to experience the essence of traditional Chinese culture. Plenty Chinese shops, this lively street provides variety of Chinese cuisine, including the local must eat pork chop soup, chicken rice and ‘kuay chap’ noodle soup. You can also visits temples, handicraft shops, and find unique souvenirs in this vibrant place.

Tip : Suggest to visit during weekdays, to avoid crowd where you can slowly walk the street to spot on hidden gem shops and crafts.

Cat Museum, Petra Jaya

Kuching is often referred to as “Cat City” (in Malay, ‘kuching’ is cat) and it pays homage to this nickname with the Cat Museum. Located in Petra Jaya, this museum is a great place for cat lovers. It has a vast collection of cat-related exhibits, from photos and pictures to ornaments and sculptures. All famous cats you will find it here – cartoon cats like Garfield and Hello Kitty to traditional Chinese cloth tigers. You, as cat lover – definitely shall not missed out!
