Take a Tram

Travel in Melbourne, take the tram. They’re not only the fastest way to get around the city, but they’re also the most budget-friendly transport that for everyone. These historic rides go around the city’s best spots for FREE (yes, and it’s for everyone). While taking the City Circle Tram, you can cover almost all heritage sites in Victoria’s suburbs. Other than that, Free Tram Zone in CBD takes you from Queen Victoria Market to Docklands, Spring Street, Federation Square, and Flinders Street Station—no charge at all, no cash needed, just hop on and hop off at your planned destinations! Not bad for a free ride right? Mark them down!

Myki – Card or Mobile App

Hmm, well if you missed the tram or not a tram fans? You can choose to take the bus or the trains instead. Public transport in Melbourne is as easy as peanut (trust me!) when you’ve got your myki card or Mobile myki on hand (little tip for you, pre-download at your homeland just in case)! Simple and hassle free, as you can skip lining up to pay for the fare—a myki is your all-in-one travel ticket. All you have to do is set up your account, top-up in stores, tap your card (or phone), and jump to your favourite Melbourne attractions anytime with buses or trains at your choice!

Tips : You can check on several webs or platforms, to check unlimited pack come with one-day travel on trains and buses which included maps, souvenir wallets, and also discounts available! For Myki card, at Melbourne Airport, myki machines have been installed in Terminals 2, 3 and 4.

Be like a Local

To experience Melbourne totally? Best is to go to the local markets. Market has all the freshest produce and unusual things and finds, Queen Victoria Market is the 140years oldest special village market in town. More than 600 stalls here, join bustling food stalls serving up some mouthwatering mussels (and many more foods especially mutton, curries, bread, cheese and pizza) , great coffee, plus live music, unique thrifts, and special handcrafted goods to take home. The market is open from Tuesday to Sunday, 6am to 4pm, so be sure to set a reminder to visit this local favourite spot!

Tip : It’s also super easy to catch the tram to the Market. Just jump on Yarra trams route 19, 57, 58 or 59 which stop right outside the market. Or if you are accessing the market by train, is only a 7-minute walk from Melbourne Central and Flagstaff Stations.

Check out Collin Street

A famous and vibrant neighbourhood of Collins Street is brimming with trendy coffee shops, heritage buildings, luxury shopping, and lots of undiscovered gems of course many designer stores too. This street, you can get a five-star dinner with loves one, grab a quick great cup at Industry Beans Lt. Collins, or simply enjoy the view of the iconic Melbourne Town Hall. By walking around the street, you definitely can see cultural and historical of Melbourne from 19th century buildings and theatres to 21st century shopping and boutiques spree.

Tip : Hop on Tram 109, the first tram that goes to Collin Street and Tram 11, 12 and 48 (for free!).

Go to Library

State Library Victoria, is free entrance for everyone, created as ‘the people’s university’. Open daily from 10am to 6pm, a place of learning and discovery. A must-visit Melbourne icon where dating back to 1856, the State Library boasts incredible heritage architecture, free exhibitions, programs and events. Experience the majestic domed La Trobe Reading Room – one of the city’s most magnificent and photographed spaces.

Tip : Library provides free, high-speed wireless access in all of the public areas. Food is not allowed and water bottle is only allow at main public areas.
